As part of our Environment Day, members of the King’s Sailing team and students from our International College visited Herne Bay to take part in a beach clean. In conjunction with Herne Bay Sailing Club and Plastic Clever Schools, the group collected lots of small plastics and abandoned fishing tackle from the beach. The day forms part of our application for an Eco-Schools Green Flag, which recognises educators and young people who are taking steps to tackle environmental issues such as climate change, biodiversity-loss, or plastic pollution.

Following on, students from all three schools joined together at the International College on Friday 21 June for a morning of fun. Spearheaded by Mr Kadinopolous, students took part in activities such as a bug hunt, a treasure hunt and a sustainably sourced picnic in the garden area. It was wonderful to see all three schools team up together and learn about the small changes they can make to better the environment.
